From the free inventory tool to a workspace
The free inventory tool and a full workspace do related jobs at different depths. Here is the difference, and what to expect when you move from one to the other.

What the free tool does
The free inventory tool runs with no signup. You pick the AI tools you use, say what you use them for, and get a classified register you can download in about five minutes. It is the fastest way to see where your AI lands under the Act.
What a workspace adds
A workspace turns that one-off snapshot into something you maintain. On top of the register and classification, you get:
- Generated documents you can edit, version, and export to PDF and DOCX.
- A Compliance Roadmap that tracks every duty that applies to you.
- Regulator updates, with the ones that affect your systems flagged.
- An append-only audit log, quarterly reviews, and roles for your team.
- Auto-discovery connectors on the Business plan and up.
Moving your results in
The free tool does not create an account, so a new workspace starts fresh. Re-adding the same tools takes only a few minutes, because the workspace draws on the same tool library you used in the free tool. Start a trial, open Add systems, and pick the same tools again. From there everything else unlocks.
For what each plan includes, see plans, billing, and upgrading.

How to build your risk register with the add-systems wizard: pick tools from the library or add your own, then say what you use each one for.
