The EU AI Act for clinics and healthcare providers

Healthcare is high-stakes under the Act. Diagnostic and triage AI can be high-risk, while scribing and admin tools usually are not.

AI that supports medical diagnosis or triage can be high-risk under Annex III and the EU's medical-device rules. That is the heaviest end of the obligations.

Clinical note-taking, scheduling, and patient messaging are usually lower-risk, though patient data demands careful data governance under GDPR as well.
